Bellerin to City?- Agent Albert Botines confirms approach from “one club”, but not Barca

The agent of Arsenal right back Hector Bellerin has said that he received “only one offer” after his client inked his recent contract extension, and that the club was not Barcelona.

Bellerin has been linked with Barcelona all season, with the Catalans having serious trouble filling the void left by Dani Alves’ departure to Juventus. Most of their attacks this season have come down the left, with Jordi Alba left to shoulder a majority of the burden. Bellerini, 22, left the Blaugrana to join Arsenal back in 2011 and should logically have no problems fitting back into their system.

However with Botines confirming the club was not Barca, the rumour mill has it that the suitors are Pep Guardiola and Manchester City, with the Spanish gaffer in the market for a quick RB to suit his gameplan. He has also been linked with Spurs’ Kyle Walker and Benfica’s Nelson Semedo.

However Bellerin has indicated in the past that he might not want to go to a domestic rival out of respect to Arsenal, and that if the Gunners are willing to sell him to their direct CL rivals, which looks unlikely given the tremendous competition for a European spot in the Premier League.

Here are Botines’ quotes

Before he signed his renewal there were six or seven clubs interested in him, and that made him understand he was doing the right things.

After he signed the renewal there were only two or three clubs who kept up their interest in Bellerin, and I have to say I only received one offer for him and it is not from Barcelona.

I have read lots of things about this supposed interest from Barcelona but it has been a long time since the club last called me

You never know what is going to happen in the future in the football world and of course he signed a renewal with a view to stay at Arsenal for a long time.

But you never know, maybe there’s a club who likes him and things change. I can’t guarantee anything about the future but the natural thing would be for him to stay because he has signed a renewal.
